This laboratory is a new laboratory born in April 2015.
Our laboratory aims to rationalize and clarify the design methods and analysis methods of structures by using mathematical methods including optimization, etc.
By doing this, for example, you can freely design an impressive tension structure called tensegrity and a counterintuitive framework structure with negative Poisson's ratio.
Also, for complex curved surface structures such as shells, the surface shape that takes into consideration mechanical performance, economy, constructability and/or designability can be obtained by numerical calculation.
In addition, we are conducting a wide range of researches on robust structural design, computational contact mechanics, structural analysis with material and/or geometric nonlinearities.
